Outdoor Space
The outdoor area at Brickle End is all about play, encouraging natural play through active exercises of the body and mind. We try to create an environment that is rich in creativity, exploration and imaginative play in a free and open environment. Children are encouraged to run, climb, swing and think up ideas and learn about friendship, interaction and communication.

The outdoor play areas flows from one area to the next, open ended and simple. It encourages children to use their imagination, have continuity and is perceived by the children as children’s not adults’ space. The garden is designed to stimulate children’s senses and nurtures the children’s curiosity allowing interaction with other children, adults and parents.

The garden is divided into many play zones so that children are more flexible. The woodland area and the outdoor room under the willow tree are frequently used by the children. The woodland area theme is set out with a Pirate ship and wooden house surrounded by trees and a look out tower. This gives the children support with balance and coordination.

Woodland Area
The theme of the woodland area is observation, exploration and knowledge and understanding of the world. We teach them about culture and why life outdoor is very important. We also build up the sensory garden. In order to enhance their physical and role play, we provide a climbing frame and a pirate ship. The tools and open space provides the children with challenges and opportunities to help them with reasoning, communication and creative development.

The Willow Tree
The outdoor space under the willow tree provides music and dance area which is created around a stage. This also have facility for a table and seats round the tree for group participation or solitary. It is a place for inclusion for all where parents can also share in the musical activities with their children and also a source of relaxation for children with behavior problem or special needs. Music gives every one especially children a great source of comfort both socially and emotionally, building up their confidence and self esteem. Most of all, it is one activities where everyone can take part regardless of their background.
