Safety and security in the home…

Any adult, parent or visitor to the house or garden, other than staff, must never go directly into the main house without permission.

We ensure all staff at Brickle End have been vetted and have enhanced disclosure from Ofsted.

Adults at all time supervise children.

Registration is taken on arrival and departure to record times of children entering and leaving.

The arrival and departure of adults, visitor and volunteers are recorded in the book.

We take great care to protect our children, staff and properties and our premises.

We have safety locks fitted on all external doors and outsides gates.

The outdoor area is securely fenced and checked before use.

The setting is a smoke free environment.

All resources and toys are checked daily and equipment stored or stacked safely.

All electrical and gas equipment conforms to safety requirements and is checked regularly.

Storage heaters and sockets are checked daily during risk assessment to make sure all equipment are safe and children are taught not to touch.

The member of staff responsible for health and safety is Rosemarie.

We display the necessary safety notes on the wall near the entrance to the playroom.

Risk assessments taken daily on activities and procedures.

Health and safety issues are explained to parents of new children.

Children are made aware of health and safety issues through discussions, activities and routines.

We have public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance displayed on the wall in the playroom.
